In 2011 Ola Podrida recorded a few songs live at Daytrotter. At the time, Andrew Kenny of The Wooden Birds was joining the band on bass. We hope you enjoy this opportunity to revisit these songs from Belly of the Lion. The first single from the new album Ghosts Go Blind will be available soon.

Ghosts Go Blind

We are happy to announce that we have finished mixing our new album Ghosts Go Blind! We recorded it over several months in 2012 with Matt Oliver at Big Orange in Austin and mixed it with Louie Lino at Resonate and we cannot thank them enough for their enormous roles in helping us make a record that we couldn’t be more proud of. Western Vinyl will be releasing it in Spring 2013 and we should have a release date soon, we can’t wait to hit the road then and play these songs for everybody!  If you’re in Austin on December 18th, please join us at The Mohawk, where we’ll be performing songs from the new album.

Ola Podrida’s David Wingo has been very busy working on soundtracks for MUD (starring Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon) and Prince Avalanche (starring Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch), but he’s he’s somehow found time to record a new album with the rest of the band, tentatively titled Ghosts Go Blind.  Although the album wont be out until 2013, you can hear much of it live at Frank on September 15th, in addition to performances by Papermoons and Gold Beach.
